I almost decided to give up DJ'ing in 2004, after a bad experience whilst playing at a West End nightclub, the manager refused to allow entry to the Black guests on my list and told me in no uncertain terms NOT to play any Hip Hop or Underground "Black Music".
I felt so low when I got home, thinking about all the hard work we had put in to fight and bring great, quality tunes to the public and it to be belittled by a manager in such a way, obviously not his fault, but the local Police had been giving them pressure about the people coming to the club. Who in most part were Hard working Black Professionals.
As if, in a moment of divine inspiration, I came across this Trevor Nelson Documentary and was inspired to just bring the best music, no matter what. Hope you enjoy it?
